Toyota has just broken the electric vehicle course record at the Motorsport event Pikes Peak International Hill Climb this Sunday. The winning racecar, driven by the multiple Japanese rally champion Fumio Nutahara, was namely the Toyota TMG EV P002.
The time which broke thee record was exactly 10:15.380. This was estimated on the now fully paved 19.9-kilometre course, which in fact bettered the previous class record by more than two minutes.
Furthermore, the time was also over 15 seconds f

Lexus IS F CCS-R has finished second in its class at its first attempt at Pikes Peak hill climb. The Lexus team had run over a 20-kilometre course consisting of 156 turns - concluding at 14,110 feet above sea level.
In fact, it is interesting to assume that the thin air at the summit of Pikes Peak robs vehicles of almost 30 per cent of engine power. However, the pilot behind the wheel - US racer Ken Gushi, has completed the feat in 11 minutes, 35.17 seconds. This made him second in class behind a lightweight V12

Audi have released this image to the public in connection with the annual Pikes Peak International Hill Climb (PPIHC) that's due next week – a 12 mile climb to the summit of Pikes Peak in Colorado. Between the contenders and the 1,440 m altitude finish line weave more than 156 bends. Obviously, Audi plan to surprise us with whatever this quattro incarnation is.
The current road going RS5 is an impressive coupe enough – a 4.2-liter V8 FSI unit underneath its shell that produces 444 hp and 430 Nm of torque. A

We've come a long way from 1950 until now. Think about it. From having no satellites orbiting the Earth whatsoever, to actually shrouding the planet with them. Color TV, mobile phones, computers, nanotechnology, medicine: everything leaped within just 62 years. The whole concept of how fast the technological evolution is is a bit hard to grasp. Now, we have stumbled upon something that gives us the automotive, high-octane point of view. It's the evolution of the F1 car.
It's all there since t

Porsche 918 Spyder concept has just made its debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed. It was introduced to the wide public back in the 2010 at the Geneva Motor Show, where it gathered praises and received overwhelming reaction from the sports car enthusiasts.
918 Spyder has unique hybrid technology, thanks to Porsche’s Intelligent Performance system. The latter is responsible for the estimated fuel consumption of the car of 3 liters per kilometer (or 94 mpg), equating to CO2 emissions of 70 g/km. The supercar is

Around a week ago, Top Gear managed to set a world record by pulling off a stunt that involves two loops in a row. The setup was creatively dubbed the “deadly 720”. Now Team Hot Wheels, which basically do stunts for a living, would like to respond by attempting again a loop stunt but with more of a tag team kind of spirit.
Two reasonably brave drivers will set off from a single line on separate tracks. Then they'll begin their individual climb on a six story loop that fuses the two tracks at

A John Cooper Works MINI Coupe is sufficiently fast enough, right? Of course it is – 211 hp, 280 Nm of peak torque and a 6.4 second run to the 60 mile an hour mark. But apparently, one such MINI recently did a lap on the Hockenheim Race Circuit with a time of 1:13.0 on slick tires. The event was a 2012 “Tuner Grand Prix” and was hosted by the “sport auto” magazine. That's pretty impressive, but AC Schnitzer believe, the Coupe can do better than that (it is after all a “tuner” prix).
That is when they brought out

The 24 Hours Le Mans is a testing, excruciating, nerve wrecking and even deadly endurance race. It is literally a 24 hour race and at the least two drivers need need to participate in each team. At the finish line, one might think there's a big sigh of relief for all participants. It is however, more or less a 15 minutes if glory type of thing.
Here's the story behind the scenes from the Chevrolet Team point of view. As soon as one race ends, it's back to the drawing board again – what went w
