Lexus LFA hits the market
The super sports car from Lexus - LFA is announced for production. It was created by a small group of engineers, whose goal was to create the most powerful Lexus ever built, and they did it.
The LFA has naturally aspirated 4.8 litre V10 engine developing 552bhp and 480Nm of torque. The power is put on the road through rear-mounted 6-speed Automated Sequential Gearbox (ASG). The performance of LFA is just outstanding, 0-100km/h is 3.7 seconds and top speed of 325km/h.
The new 4.8 litre V10 is specially created for Lexus LFA with collaborative partnership between Toyota Motor Corporation and the Japanese specialist engineering company. The specific output is 115bhp per litre, which is the highest of any current supercar with naturally aspirated engine.
The LFA is just an amazing car. From the super sport exterior, through the mighty engine and the exhaust system, which delivers sound like no other road car, especially at the maximum revs of 9000rpm.
The engineers used Carbon Fibre Reinforced Plastic (CFRP) for the building the car. This is a high strength and low weight material, which gave the designers freedom to make shapes, edges and curves, which are impossible to do with metal.
The cabin of Lexus LFA is hand-built, which guarantees perfect driver ergonomics and care to every single detail. The seats are upholstered with ather and Alcantara. Owners also can pick different colours and details to suit their personal taste.
Lexus LFA is limited up to 500 units, which makes the car very rare and of course more expensive.
All this power and performance has a price and it isn't low, at all. The launch price in UK is €368,000.
