Holden's popular mid-sized Captiva SUV has picked up an AutoChic Car of the Year Award, successfully winning the "Best Car for Mums" category.

More than 25,000 voters lodged their Car of the Year nominations online at autochic.com.au, a website aimed at informing female car buyers.

AutoChic website Founder and Director, Juliet Potter, said Captiva's sporty good looks, flexible packaging and comprehensive line-up of safety features create a winning combination.

"With the Holden Captiva, yummy mummies can rejoice in firmly securing their street cred with practical features such as rear park assist, seating for up to seven and eye catching good looks," she said.

"The Captiva ticks the boxes with all the safety mod cons, including Electronic Stability Control and Active Rollover Protection. We think the girls of Australia have got this one right. Congratulations to the captivating Holden Captiva."

The Captiva was announced winner of the "Best Car for Mums" AutoChic Car of the Year Award following a six-month online website competition, which asked AutoChic members to nominate their favourite car.
