Corvette ZR1 and Camaro at the Goodwood Festival of Speed
2010 Goodwood Festival of Speed will be supported by many famous brands. One of them is Chevrolet, which will make presence of two models – Camaro and the Corvette ZR-1.
Both of the US supercars will join in the event's Moving Motorshow on Thursday July 1 and will perform in run up Goodwood's famous hillclimb circuit on the Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
Chevrolet UK Managing Director Mark Terry said: "These iconic cars, such as Corvette and Camaro, are clear indicators of how strong Chevrolet's brand heritage is"
"The fact that they are here, in Europe, being sold as Chevrolets is the clearest indication yet of the confidence that General Motors has in the Chevrolet brand, and the direction it is headed in Europe.", he added.
Furthermore, Chevy will bring to the event the two latest performance models - both of the Silverline Chevrolet racing cars from the Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship will be in attendance. One of the Cruzes will be run up the hill, with works drivers Jason Plato and Alex MacDowall behind the wheel on different days.
"A couple of years ago, Chevrolet was a brand you wouldn't have seen at Goodwood", comments Mr Terry.
"But we've come so far in so little time that we're now a brand that can stand shoulder-to-shoulder with some of the most prestigious names in performance motoring.", he added.
The Goodwood Festival of Speed will be holding from 1 to 4 July, with public access for the main event is from July 2-4.
