Vauxhall has unveiled full details about the all-new 2014 Meriva. The compact MPV was firstly launched back in 2003 and since then it has a lot of achievements. The direct rivals of Meriva are Ford B-Max, Nissan Note, Fiat 500L and Citroen C3 Picasso.

2014 Vauxhall Meriva boasts new grille and newly-designed headlamps, LED DRLs are available for the first time and there is a new Emerald Green pearlescent exterior paint colour. An elegant, all-new chrome beltline swoops down the side of the vehicle, highlighting the wave design that accentuates the rear window and offers additional visibility to small children sitting in the rear seats.

The engine range includes a newly-developed 1.6 liter CDTi Whisper Diesel with 136HP (100 kW) and 320Nm (237 lb-ft) of torque. There are also 1.4 liter turbocharged petrol with revised 6-speed automatic transmission. The new low-friction transmissions are now available across the whole new Meriva family. All petrol engines comply with EURO 6 regulations.

Other improvements include UK-tuned steering and active safety features including more sophisticated ESP functions. There is a new generation IntelliLink infotainment system as well as FlexDoor-style system.

The safety is granted by Vauxhall's Adaptive Forward Lighting System offered as option and low front fascia and narrow A-pillars giving occupants clear view.

The pricing starts from £12,620 to £22,355 on-the-road. There are 6 trim levels including Expression, S, Exclusiv, Energy, Tech Line and SE.
