2011 Volvo S60 pricing details announced
Volvo has released the pricing details on its head-turning, brand-new Volvo S60 models. Expected to arrive in the brand's showrooms in July, the high-class ride is already available for pre-order, with price tags starting from £23,295 for the D3 ES (163 horsepower) model to £36,745 for the ultra-equipped T6 AWD SE Lux Geartronic Premium.
Regarded as the most distinct and stylish Volvo ever, the four-door S60 represents a pure embodiment of excellent driving dynamics and astonishing design. It is offered with a choice of two diesels and one petrol power unit. The newly-engineered five-cylinder 2.0-litres D3 engine renders 163 horsepower and 400 Nm of maximum torque. Mated to a manual gearbox, its fuel consumption hits 54.3 mpg (EU Combined, preliminary figure). The well-known twin-turbo D5 engine delivers 205 horsepower and 420 Nm of torque and accelerates from standstill to 62 mph in 7.8 seconds. Packed on the new S60, the D5 powerplant boasts fuel consumption of 53.3 mpg (EU Combined). The most vigor variant in the new sedan's range is the T6, which sports the newly-revised 3.0-litres six-cylinder petrol engine that generates 304 horsepower and 440 Nm of torque. This engine is capable to catapult the ride from 0 to 62 mph in 6.5 seconds flat before reaching a V-max of 155 mph, while still offering fuel consumption of 28.5 mpg (EU Combined).
The all-new S60 from Volvo is also offered with the brand's ground-breaking Pedestrian Detection with Full Auto Brake system, which can be fitted as an option on the additional price of £1,3501.
Like all vehicles manufactured from the Swedish automaker, the newcomer's standard safety features are up to the mark. They include City Safety, DSTC (dynamic stability and traction control), WHIPS (Whiplash Protection System), SIPS (Side Impact Protection System) and Inflatable Curtain airbags for the driver and the passengers.
Besides the stunning safety levels, Volvo is offering the new ride with standard technology like: Electronic Climate Control, Cruise Control, 5-inch colour screen as part of the new Infotainment system2, Information Centre, floor mats, Passenger Airbag Cut-Off Switch, steering wheel remote audio controls, alloy wheels and leather steering wheel and gear stick.
Three equipment levels are available for customizing the new S60. The entry trim is named ES. It benefits from all the standard equipment listed above as well as Performance Sound Audio System, Textile upholstery, 16-inch alloys Charcoal trim.
The SE trim level starts from £25,295 for the D3 engine and maintains all the standard equipment in the ES alongside Tylosand textile/Vinyl upholstery, Shimmer Graphite aluminium trim, watch dials, Auto Dimming rear view mirror, Autofolding Power Door Mirrors with Puddle Lights, rain sensor, High Performance Sound System, Bluetooth, Rear Park Assist and 17-inch alloy rims.
Starting at £27,095 (D3), the top-of-the-range SE Lux combines the ES and SE specifications and incorporates Power Drivers Seat & Memory, leather-faced upholstery, Active Bending Lights and headlamp cleaning.
For even more luxury, a Premium Pack upgrade is available on SE and SE Lux trim levels, which adds leather-faced upholstery, satellite navigation system, DAB Digital Radio and High Performance Multimedia audio system to the car.
